Life Drawing - Structure
This life drawing shows my adopted technique of mapping out the body first with an overall structure. I find this is very helpful with getting the proportions correct on a body.
Manual Animation Device
Inspired by early forms of animation, I am currently working on my own invention showing animation in a manual form. My current concept is similar to early devices made primarily for victorian children, so I am subsequently aiming my product at the modern day child, as an alternative to the modern animation viewed on screens.
Manual Animation
For my animation device I created a short animation consisting of 24 drawn images in quick concession.
The animation is based on the boulder chase scene in the Indiana Jones films. This works well in my device because the animation travels from the back of the box forward, so the animation is seen to literally come towards the viewer.
I am hoping to design a setting or stage area inside the box, to increase the viewing experience whilst also making my device even more unique.
Car Advert - Animation
Looking into the history of transport, I created an advert for a new imagined model of car - 'The Makine Rivo'.
I initially set up the advert as a puppet layout as a simple way of experimenting with 3D animation using filtered glasses. For this I was able to create the full set up of the animation in working 3D, where each of the layers appeared with clear perspective, although a lack of software meant I was unable to complete the advert as a working 3D animation.
I also used this animation as a chance to experiment with sound. Although this increase in file size made the exporting of the animation appear pixelated and distorted.
For this animation I used a combination of Adobe Flash and Photoshop.
'Bert The Bird' - Animation
I created this animation using a combination of Adobe Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator. The animation is set up using 24fps.
In the early stages of development, I looked into many of Eadweard Muybridge's animal motion sequences to study the frame by frame movement of a bird in flight.
